GRIEF IS A FIVE LETTER WORD

I lie

Darkness engulfs

Wind howls

Night wails

Grief

Heart open

Life flows out

Memories flood in

The dam now broken

Barriers I made

Buildings I built

Now in shambles

Now in pieces

Sun, where is your warmth

Moon, where is your cold

A lifeless log

Numb, forgotten

What do I feel

What do I see

Darkness and darkness abounds

I drift

A cluster of cells

A human, non-human

A being, non-existent

I am

I was

Mind soul and breath

Hollow now

What remains

What remains

I ask

I ask

Silence and Silence

Grief

For it is just letters five
